Artist: B. Pazant:
Untitled, Moon Water offers a sensual, contemplative study of the Black male body immersed in night. A lone figure stands waist-deep in the ocean, moonlight painting his back in silver. His presence is both erotic and serene—an embodiment of desire, vulnerability, and elemental power.
The piece draws from the lineage of Black homoerotic art while resisting spectacle. Instead, the gaze becomes intimate: quiet, lingering, reverent. Every highlight on his skin echoes the moon’s reflection on the waves, blurring the line between flesh and water. In this convergence, the work suggests cleansing, rebirth, longing, and the magnetic pull of queer solitude.
Moon Water becomes both ritual and refuge, affirming the beauty and interiority of the Black queer body in a world that often overlooks both.
